Event and Structure Permitting in Phoenix, Arizona
Permits stop more projects than weather does. A tent goes up without an approved structural permit and the inspector shuts the site down on opening day.
Submit at least 30 days out and it is routine. Submit inside 30 days and rush fees apply, but it still gets done.

You send the information. We handle the rest.
We are here to simplify the City of Phoenix AFP permitting process for you and take the worry out of the equation. Once we get the information, documents and payment from you, that is all we will need, and we will handle the rest.
Pride Group files under its own Arizona Contractors License, pays the City fee on your behalf, meets the City of Phoenix structural inspector on site, and hand delivers the approved permit and field plans to your representative before the project opens.

What is the City of Phoenix AFP program?
AFP is the Phoenix Development Services program that permits temporary tents, structures, and assemblies. Pride Group is an Arizona registered contractor approved by the City of Phoenix AFP and the Phoenix Convention Center, and files projects under its own Arizona Contractors License.
How far in advance do I need to submit?
No less than 30 days from the project start date. Rush fees apply if processing is required inside 30 days, and the permit still gets done, but the City charges overtime and rush inspection rates.
Who pays the City permit fee?
Pride Group pays the City fee on your behalf; the fee is not included in the service fee and is billed through. Current estimates: review and processing about $380, inspection about $380, and $570 for overtime, after-hours or rush inspection.
What do I need to provide?
Project and venue details, install, open and strike dates, structure type and size, your billing entity and on-site representative, plus engineering drawings and load calculations. We review the drawings, validate the load calculations, and provide a Certified Arizona Engineering Stamp if one is required.
What happens at the inspection?
We conduct a structural inspection after completion but before opening, per City requirement, and meet the City of Phoenix Structural Inspector on your behalf. After the inspection we submit a Structural Observation Form with a Certified Arizona Engineering Stamp.
What do I receive at the end?
City of Phoenix AFP approved field plans and the approved permit, hand delivered to your on-site representative. Both must be kept on site until the end of the project.
Send the drawings. We take it from there.
